6.21 Procedural Texture Generation

Procedurally generated textures are a diverse topic; we concentrate on those based on filtered noise functions . They are commonly used to simulate effects from phenomena such as fire, smoke, clouds, and marble formation. These textures are described in detail in [28], which provides the basis for much of this section.
